The Daily Perv...

Personally I don't feel the need to explain this shameless case of perving, however for those of you not as addicted to a good ol' fashion perv I will...

This is a Louis Vuitton Speedy from the second Yayoi Kusama x Louis Vuitton collaboration drop at Selfridges. It is £633... Some may take a sharp intake of breath at that figure, those of you aware of Kusama or Louis collabs will know that it is a bit of a steal. Think of it as a bargain, as technically speaking it is your way of getting your mitts on a piece of art/piece of history/piece of general fashion loveliness that there aren't many of... Plus it is WAY cheaper than the pumpkin minaudiere coated in swarovski crystals that Kusama created for the collection (I believe it is a fair few thousands for that little baby)... I recon it is much cheaper than a piece of Kusama's original work too...
This collection has been hotly anticipated as Yayoi Kusama is one of the past century's most highly revered conceptual artists, who has come out of semi-retirement to work with Marc Jacobs on this, and by splashing her famous polkadot work across one of the most famous monograms in modern history. I knew this was  big deal because Yves Carcelle, CEO of LV, allowed Kusama to cover the monogrammed pieces so heavily, previous collaborations havn't seen such blatant covering of the famous logo, it usually peeks through much more. I for one love it all. I also love that she is taking over all 24 windows at Selfridges on Oxford St and filling them with all manner of fabulousness.

So readers, go forth and perv...

Miserable Mondays

I have been toying with the idea of a weekly post, and bizarrely became fixated on it being Monday themed, I have no idea why as i hate this day. With bells on. Despite the face I have no reason to, I am no 9-5er therefore my days off change weekly and I don't have every weekend free to give me good reason to dread this day, I just hate it. I think it stems from my intense hatred of school and ever since weekends have become a haven, so I dread Mondays.

So, in response to my day based anger I have decided to develop a weekly concept to make Mondays less dreary and more magical, and the only way I know how is through the medium of fashion.... Soooooo (drum roll please!) welcome to Miserable Mondays! I know, I know, if it is meant to be fun I shouldn't use such a sad word like "miserable" but that's just what this day is, and I am using the power of blogging to dispel this from everyone once a week. It will be like an outfit post/diary post, using the power of me to cheer you up with my utterly random sense of dress and hopefully fun things to make you feel less blue... Plus only four days 'til the weekend bitches! BOOM! Two things to smack a toothy smile on your faces.

Today me and the boy went on a little 'Flat Furnishing Expedition' to the marvellous magical land that is Wythenshawe Civic Centre. It is like a crazy mini shopping land, very similar (and much cleaner) to Salford Shopping City aka Salford Precinct. Civic (as it is affectionately known) is a paradise of bargain shops, food stuffs, a nail bar, afro hair salon/shop and magical little market. We bought fancy cushions, crockery and plastic kitchen appliances... Aside from fashion and all related matter, household goods get my little heart beating. Today was like Christmas! My favourite purchase was a little ceramic egg box (minus lid) to keep my farted from a chicken protein-based products. Oh and my electrical mini chopper (for baking, which I LOVE!)

For this sunshine soaked day of fun I wore my neon pinky/orangey knit from Topshop, which I love because the knit is all loose and holey and keeps me relatively cool in these "summer" months. I added my floral Primark shorts to the mix... For accessories a little vintage bag, Chanel pumps for the hi/lo lix and my new H&M "rose gold" paper chain necklace. Since Autumn/Winter ain't too far off and I will no doubt be draped in all manner of darker hues I thought i would make the most of my summer purchases before I feel to silly dressing like a colour blind pensioner out on a day trip.

Let me know what you think of the new Monday venture...

ring o' ring o' roses, a pocket full o' posies...

I apologise in advance to this lovely lady for the lateness of this post. I photographed her almost a week ago and have been so busy, busy working I have had little if any time to post... and dear readers, I apologise to you for a lack of posting in the past couple of weeks. This has been down to little time and the fact I am planning new little features and posts to make pins and needles a better more funtastic reading experience.

Back to the lady in question... due to the sunshine, rushing to work and the sheer excitement t her downright wonderful accessorising skills I didn't ask her name but praise I shall heap regardless. The wool theme of her accessories was what caught my beady fashion pervert eye, I can't pinpoint what I love more... the wonderful floral garland of a necklace or the frankly HUGE pastel, ombre knitted piece of wonderment that is her bag! It is utterly epic. and I would quite happily live in it as the size and sheer woolliness would accommodate me just fine as a home. Also the semi-surrealist theme of her necklace (floral garland as neckpiece) did nothing but charm me and I wish I owned one. I am a fan of the statement necklace and this was just that. The simple touches of the top knot and Isabel Marant-esque fringed booties work really well for me too, especially the length of the dress. It is neither midi nor maxi and that for me is just lovely. The length manages to become an entity all of it's own, so that with the fancy knitted/floral finishing touches makes this lady a maverick to me. Despite the fact that I fly the flag for maximalism I do ADORE any folk who can make minimalism the order of the day with accessories plus the fact that both pieces could do nothing but shine against the simple silhouette of the dress meant that they became all the more statement and noticeable. I just want it all...

Now I just need to knit one, purl one my way to some rather magical accessories. Shame I am utterly useless at knitting....

The Daily Perv

I'm getting into the swing of things with my new found pervert themed feature, today I discovered another item of luxury porn to lust over like a demented Russian housewife hell bent on wasting her husbands hard earned monies. The object of my lust today is this marvel of French wonderment. Sadly even if I saved all my pennies forever and ever I doubt I'd ever be able to afford to drape myself in it. This little gem from Balmain can be yours for a mere £20,300.... Eye watering I know. I could buy a car for that, or a handbag made of snake or crocodile... I adore this little beauty, mainly because it looks like a carpet bag with sleeves and a smattering of sparkles. I am sucker for anything that resembles a tapestry cushion, or Mary Poppins-esque carpet bag... Especially if I can wear it!
Now someone pass me a teapot and a sewing kit, I'm off to fashion myself something out of a cushion and a jumper....
